يكي از ويژگي هاي بارز اين سري از لنزها ديد افقي تا 5.6 ˚ مي باشد. كاملاً مشخص است كه اين لنزها براي محيط هاي بيروني كاربرد دارند و اولين انتخاب جهت كاربردهاي مانند شناسايي صفحه پلاك در نظارت ترافيكي در هنگامي كه شما به تبديل جزئيات كوچك در بزرگنمايي مناسب نيازمند بوده و يا  براي ورودي درها يا هنگامي كه شيء كوچك شما بسيار دور مي باشد .

حق امتياز تامرون پوشش چند لايه اي را كه باعث كاهش بازتاب نور خيابان تا حداقل بوده را تضمين مي كند. ND فيلتر مخصوص تامرون در Iris لنز متحد و يكپارچه شده است و كه اشتباهات ناشي از تفاوت در زير نور بسيار روشن را كاهش مي دهد. عنصر كروي لنز كيفيت و رزلوشن بالاي تصوير را  حتي در زير نور بسيار كم و با Iris   كاملا بازشده تضمين مي نمايد.  

تركيبي از هر دو فن آوري  13VM550ASII  را به يك لنز كامل براي استفاده هاي خارجي با تصويريي با كيفيت عالي در زير نور كم ماه و روشنايي زياد آفتاب تبديل ميكند. در اين مدل امكان تنظيم    Iris بصورت دستي و خودكار وجود دارد.
