The integrated automatic license plate recognition (also named as Optical Character Recognition) is one of the most challenging tasks of an automatic video surveillance system. This module is already used in more than 1000 productive systems of various kinds. These include the identification of license plates and containers according to ISO 6346 as well as barrier controls.

The digivod® license plate recognition module is characterized by its speed, its accuracy and its flexibility. It can be used with all digivod® cameras.

For the most demanding applications a specialized camera allows to recognize characters from a font size of 16 pixel within about 50 msec. It provides reliable detection for characters in Latin, Arabic, Cyrillic and Chinese.
